This weekend saw yet another fantastic display of development across three separate competitions as our u18 men took to the court against City Of Edinburgh Kings away at Portobello High School, the u16 men took on Ayrshire Tornadoes at Dalry primary school and the u16 women faced both Glasgow Fever and Dunfermline Reign at Clydebank Leisure center as their national league campaigns continued.

Our u16 men kicked of the weekend against Ayrshire Tornadoes away in Dalry. With both teams sitting in the middle of the table it was sure to be a hotly contested affair. By all accounts the boys played an outstanding game seeing them executing some great basketball however failure to convert easy shots ended up hurting the boys dearly in the long run. The loss of top scorer and star starting big man Maciej Niziolek to an ankle injury also left the boys with big shoes to fill on the glass and on offense, we wish a Maciej a speedy recovery! With plenty of lessons to learn the boys have a chance of redemption as they face the same Tornadoes team later on in the week in SLBA action.

Our u16 women made the trip to Clydebank leisure center were they took on Glasgow Fever and Dunfermline Reign in the national development league. The girls picked up two fantastic wins and played both great team and amazing individual basketball through out the day. u14 Niamh Rana and u15 Grace Gormley stuffed the stat sheet in the first game dropping 32 and 27 points respectively with Niamh Rana continuing her fine form into the second game against Reign dropping 21 points. The girls displayed just how far they have came both as individuals and as a team in such a short space of time and will look to carry the lessons they learned into this weeks training sessions.

Our u18 men ended a fantastic weekend in Portobello, Edinburgh as they took on Edinburgh Kings in division one action. Extremely under handed due to numerous last minute call offs, the boys were in no way fazed and put in an outstanding first half performance and a strong willed second half against one of Scotland's top teams. With fantastic performance's across the board in all areas of the game Club basketball rookies Sean McCulloch impressed with 14 points and an amazing crowd pleasing three point buzzer beater at the end of the 1st quarter and Patryk Kozlowski showed boundless potential with countless impressive defensive stops. Cameron Mangan also impressed with strong inside play which included two AND1's , Ben Polley (who must be the most traveled player in the Scottish national league making the trip from Oban to every single game each weekend) showed great composure having just made the tough step up from division two to division one and from u16 to u18. Glasgow City veterans David Ochnio and sharp shooter Evan Docherty also produced fine, mature performances. Ignore the score boys, you should be extremely excited about the amazing potential you displayed today.

With all three teams in action again this week in the SLBA, there is plenty opportunity to catch the guys in action to see for yourself just how far they have came since the start of the season! Remember for the latest updates stay tuned to our Facebook and Twitter pages!
