Partnerships

At Glasgow City we pride ourselves on building active and high quality relationships with key stake holders to assist us in providing the best possible service to our players, staff and parents.

We currently collaborate with our national federation to provide our Community Officer services in a joint project with SportScotland whilst providing schools of basketball at Lochend Community High School and St Andrew's RC Secondary School. We work in conjunction with basketballscotland to provide coach, referee and officials education within the East End for all ages and abilities. We also compete in official basketballscotland national competitions at all ages and regularly provide players for their youth national team programs.

Through SportScotland Direct Club Investment program we are able to provide a Community Officer who operates coaching and education sessions and development within our local primary and secondary schools. Through this program we are able to drastically increase participation in club basketball within the East End and set more young people on the pathway to performance basketball and long term sustained physical activity.

Through our partnership with active schools Glasgow we are able to facilitate the East Glasgow School's mini basketball league. This gives 15 primary schools the opportunity to compete in 4 conferences against other schools in a bid to be crowned mini league champion. Our target for this initiative is to raise the quality of young peoples first experience of competative basketball and so far based on continual growth, this initiative has been really successful.
